Boats - How it all began

Ian has a love of motoryachts that goes back to his school days when he would ride his bike miles to the local marina (wharf) to just look at the moored boats, later after Ian got married this desire surfaced again and after visiting an Auckland Boat Show with his wife Wendy and seeing an Ocean Alexander 46 Yacht Fisher, Ian was HOOKED and a secret picture was stuck to the back of the Toilet Door. Over several years that dream got closer at times and other times seemed impossible. It took many years whilst Ian studied everything he could get his hands on and THEN in 1996 Ian got his first real boat!!!

Ian purchased this vessel in Tokyo and many valuable lesson's on buying boats offshore & shipping logistics were learnt many times from the school of hard knocks.

In the following years, Ian has brokered or spec purchased many vessels in the 40ft up range in fact for several years Ian was the Number 1 importer of large used Motoryachts into New Zealand.
